CLOWN CLUB LETTER TO PARENTS

 

Here is some brief information that covers cost, liability, and location information

 

 

Costumes, clown make-up, balloons (for balloon animals) simple & inexpensive musical instruments (such as kazoos, recorders, mouth organs, whistles, toy drums, triangles, tambourines, and maracas)  These items will be provided by parents through purchase from such outlets as Joker Joker (435)628-0742.  Funny looking, simple and inexpensive costumes can be created out of second hand or raggedy clothing.

 

Cost of Classes: First month of 4 classes will be FREE.  Afterward, classes will be $30.00 for 4 classes per month.  Check or money order ONLY made payable to Special Olympics Utah South.

 

Waiver/Release of Liability: Parents must be willing to sign an assumption of risk, waiver and release of liability form to protect volunteers and instructors in the event of accidental injury during classroom instruction or performances.

 

Dates & location of orientation/information meetings:  Thursday, August 14, 7 p.m. at Summit Athletic Club, 1532 E. 1450 South  (628-5000).  Parents will have an opportunity to ask questions and to learn about our childrens clown club project.  Attendance is not mandatory, but will give parents the opportunity to meet our wonderful volunteer instructors.

 

Classes begin: Classes are held every Thursday for a period of 1 ½ hours (no classes will be held on holidays or during school breaks).

 

Location of classes:  Summit Athletic Club located at 1532 E. 1450 South.  For more information or directions to the Summit Athletic Club, phone 628-5000.  Parents must sign in at front desk and be present during class time.

 

Performances:    Parents will be notified of performances which have patriotic themes.
